Of course I’ve eaten much more than this!!! And many many more dishes of foie gras, even fresh, just seared: heavenly melting in the mouth!!! France has many many layers of astonishing gastronomy, from Michelin starred restaurants (in which, of course, I haven’t took picture: I have my own ethics!) to street markets, to village’s fairs serving grilled beef to a series of places where you think you are going to eat something absolutely not remarkable and then you are pleasantly surprise by a maîtrise that you’ll never imagine! But about the Many Wonders of French Gastronomy, or The Gourmet Traveller, I shall speak about in other upcoming posts!!!
Here we go!

For Robyn!

The only Italian look like coffee we had! For Sigrid (mainly for the Speculos! ;-D)!

The last bite of this gorgeous Foie Gras terrine, just when I remembered that I had a blog and not only a greedy stomach!!!
One of the few picture I took the only day we were in Spain, in Pamplona

And they were grilling Blonde (a French cow) just beside the alive cows that were there for the awards for the most beautiful Blonde… How nasty are those French???

Yum, Calissons!!! I miss them so much, as well as ,ice cream! I need to replenish my piment d’Espelette. I put it into everything!
ohhhhh, you know what? At the very first glance my eye just accidentally dropped on that red plastic wrapped cookie…
)) (oh and just the other day I catched an italian cookbook, translated from french, where ‘sceculoos’ was nicely translated by ‘speculo’… – oh, come on!!!!!?????:-) Anyway, I’m a huge (and frustrated too) fan of callissons, if you happen to have some recipe for it…
)
ps: oh and… piment d’espelette forever!!!
Ok, you two convince me: today I’m gonna look in my new Larousse de patisserie and find out if there is the recipe for Calissons… If there is a known recipe, must be in there, right?
Gosh! We just spent 3 weeks in France and Spain too. You took pics of the squashed looking peaches. I meant to take a shot of those as it was the first time I’d eaten it in Spain but forgot. Hope you had a wonderful trip.
Welcome back, lady! I’m headed to Paris next week – we’ll have to get together soon!
Your pics are amazing, especially the desserts…wish I could jump on a plane to Italy or Paris right now instead of sitting behind my desk
